Homemade Costumes

This year, I am happy to report I dressed all five of us. In the past, I had enough time to dress only some of the family members in homemade costumes. I am happy that my husband is such a good sport, willingly walking around town with a cardboard tube on his head. We had a fantastic day. Girls were real pleased with their costumes. We made lots of people laugh.
I love the rubber gloves on her feet. This was the first year Tori figured out she gets candies for going to people's door! Once she figured out, she pushed the other kids out of the way to run to the door yelling "Twick or Tweet!".

Some familiar photos of homemade costumes from our Halloween past.

The costumes are fantastic!! I love them all - Beaker and Cookie Monster are favourites of mine....the rubber gloves for feet are just perfect for a chicken too! Love the fluffy chicken!

Hey Di!! You know those monsters are called "Yip-Yip". They are from Sesame street though! Sadie, I have a big 'Tickle Trunk' and throw them all in there so kids play with their costumes all year around. Although I may keep beaker head, chicken feather and yip yips in a safe place this year......You never know when you need some costumes. and you are welcome to call me in costume emergencies :)

The yip yip monsters were my favorite on sesame street, but they were so rarely on! Sometimes I try to tell people what they were but so few folks remember them. Seeing those costumes was almost like proof that I'm not crazy and imagining things that never actually existed. (Except that they never ACTUALLY existed...)
So cute.
